Impact Areas

Our grants focus on improving the conditions under which people in underserved communities can be healthy and thrive. It reflects trust-based philanthropy approaches and investments in neighborhoods that have been left behind economically in the Greater Coatesville area. The integration of our impact areas allows The Alliance for Health Equity to put our community on the path of resiliency and transformation.

Helping People Live Healthy & Well

Interconnects social, health and economic pathways making it easier for people to navigate programs and services available to them to improve overall community health and well-being.

Creating Healthy Spaces & Places

Supports transforming everyday environments, like parks, playgrounds, active transportation, schools, and food outlets bringing health, equity, and dignity to under-resourced communities.

Leading Community-Driven Change

Amplifies communities’ lived experiences, voices, and power to drive locally determined solutions aimed at dismantling systemic racism and discriminatory practices through equitable polices, systems and structures that improve health and well-being for all.

Here are a few examples of collaborative initiatives that align with our Impact Areas:

    • Helping People Live Healthy & Well through Integrative Services:
      • Since 2019 The Alliance for Health Equity has been supporting the Coatesville Homelessness and Unemployment Collective with the goal: to help people live healthy and well by increasing employment and living wage employment in Coatesville for adults 18–24-year-old males and females of color by 25% increase leading to a 20% increase in housing stability (rentals and/or home ownership) by 2026.
    • Creating Healthy Spaces & Places through Healthy Environments: Greening Coatesville Initiative
      • The Greening Coatesville Initiative is a collaboration with the City of Coatesville, Natural Lands and The Alliance for Health Equity aimed at transforming public parks and recreation systems into safe and community treasures and improving the community economics of the City of Coatesville.

      • Coatesville Black Media Renaissance Project provides a vehicle for The Alliance for Health Equity to engage and partner with local artists to amplify their voice about importance social, health and economic issues.
