Empowering Change Through Community Support
Friends Association of Chester County
Discover how our Seed-And-Scale Grantee is transforming Greater Coatesville and making strides towards a healthier future for all.

Background
The Seed-and-Scale Match Funding expands the Friends Association Life Skills Program, which aims to empower families with essential life skills through strategic partnerships and targeted training. Collaborating with organizations such as the Housing Partnership of Chester County and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s Homeless Health Initiative, Friends Association has provided valuable financial literacy and health and wellness workshops.
The newly launched Life Skills Program focuses on equipping families with practical knowledge and fostering a sense of empowerment and community. By encouraging mutual support and skill-sharing, the program seeks to break cycles of multigenerational poverty and dysfunction. Given the critical issue of affordable housing in Chester County and the rising problem of family homelessness, the organization is committed to addressing these challenges.
To enhance the program’s impact, Friends Association plans to hire a full-time Life Skills Coach. This role will be pivotal in developing and expanding the program, offering personalized coaching tailored to individual family needs, and leveraging expertise from partner agencies to provide comprehensive support.
$15,000 in donations will be matched DOLLAR-FOR-DOLLAR by The Alliance for Health Equity.
