Empowering Change Through Community Support
Open Hearth, Inc.
Discover how our Seed-And-Scale Grantee is transforming Greater Coatesville and making strides towards a healthier future for all.

Background
The Seed-And-Scale Match Fund supports the JumpStart program, designed to offer a groundbreaking approach to stabilizing struggling households in Chester County, specifically targeting low- to moderate-income residents in the Greater Coatesville area. Building on our existing partnerships and referrals from the Family Savings Partner Program, as well as past Open Hearth participants, we aim to support approximately 290 households in 2023.
The program coordinator will establish partnerships with repair shops to provide quality services at fair prices for participants. Alternatively, participants can select their own repair shops, with payments handled directly by Open Hearth. The coordinator will manage the recruitment, screening, and enrollment of applicants, creating personalized budgets during intake to ensure manageable repayment plans based on income and expenses.
Repayment options may include utilizing anticipated tax refunds. The program will also include continuous monitoring of loan payments, with proactive support for participants facing difficulties. This support includes access to additional resources to help them stay on track with their repayment plans.
$10,000 in donations will be matched DOLLAR-FOR-DOLLAR by The Alliance for Health Equity.
