Empowering Change Through Community Support

The Parkesburg POINT

Discover how our Seed-And-Scale Grantee is transforming Greater Coatesville and making strides towards a healthier future for all.

Background

Since 2022, THE POINT has significantly expanded its outreach and programming for the Coatesville Area School District (CASD), aiming to improve community health and well-being through comprehensive student support.

THE POINT initiatives include:

  • In-School Support: Four POINT staff members assist students with mental health and behavioral issues.
  • Pointman Leadership Training: In collaboration with The Bridge and Prov Coatesville, we offer leadership training for the Coatesville Athletic Leadership Council.
  • Staff Training: Ensuring staff are certified in mental health first aid, suicide prevention, and trauma-informed practices.

Additionally, THE POINT coordinates therapeutic supports such as individual and group therapy, mentoring for high-risk students, motivational assemblies on mental health and resilience, and free academic tutoring.

The Seed-And-Scale Match Fund addresses social determinants of health, providing a safe and supportive environment, and offering academic assistance, mental health resources, and positive role models to help students overcome challenges and reach their full potential.

$10,000 in donations will be matched DOLLAR-FOR-DOLLAR by The Alliance for Health Equity.
