Our History
The Alliance for Health Equity recently celebrated its 20th anniversary. Formed in 2001 as a Health Conversion Foundation, from the proceeds and sale of the Brandywine Hospital, the Foundation is a placed-based 501(c)3 philanthropic organization. Our geographic area includes the Greater Coatesville community which is made up of the nine townships and municipalities within the Coatesville Areas School District. We are proud of our 20 year accomplishments:
- Removing access to care and services barriers
- Focusing on health equity and healthy youth
- Creating many community initiatives
- Making investments to advance education
The Greater Coatesville community still struggles disproportionately, in comparison to Chester County as a whole, with health and economic disparities. Recognizing that health starts in the home, The Alliance for Health Equity is taking a more holistic approach to health to advance opportunities available in the community.
