General Scholarship Fund

Transforming Educational Opportunities

The General Scholarship Fund annually awards nursing and health science awards to West Chester University, Immaculata University, and Chester County Intermediate Unit. This year marks a significant transformation in our scholarship program. Traditionally limited to $1,600 per student, our funding has now expanded to create a more impactful general scholarship fund. This allows The Alliance for Health Equity to offer larger scholarships with donor support to a greater number of students. This opportunity enhances access to education and fosters the next generation of healthcare leaders dedicated to advancing health equity.

Elizabeth Pulgarin

Harry Lewis Jr. Scholar

This generous donation has given me a blessing of financial support for this upcoming semester which I am so grateful for. With the help of this scholarship, I am able to dedicate myself fully to becoming a great nurse rather than focusing on the burden of finances. Thank you for spreading hope to nursing students like myself. Your kindness does not go unappreciated.

Anastasia Petrov

Furthering my education will equip me with the knowledge to provide proper care. I hope to give back to the program, my community and help students achieve their educational goals with a scholarship.

Armani Coleman

I was thrilled to hear of my selection and this scholarship will help me to progress throughout my educational studies. This scholarship will never go unappreciated, and I will personally hold myself accountable to the potential that it holds.

Taking a Step Further into Support

In partnership with the Newlin Foundation, we also offer the prestigious Harry Lewis Jr. and Judy Spangler Scholarships. Each scholarship provides $20,000 over four years to students within the Coatesville Area School District. What sets these scholarships apart is their focus on supporting students during their junior year of high school, ensuring they receive vital resources before embarking on their college journey. Recipients benefit from personalized guidance in college searches, application processes, financial planning, and adjusting to college life.

Harry Lewis Jr. Scholarship

The Harry Lewis Jr. Scholarship honors Harry Lewis Jr., a beloved resident of Coatesville who dedicated over 56 years to public service as a teacher and administrator. We are proud to announce Maria Nino as the 2024 recipient of this scholarship.

Judy Spangler Memorial Scholarship

The Judy Spangler Memorial Scholarship honors our late Board Member, Judy Spangler, whose commitment to youth and the Coatesville community left a lasting impact. Established by her family and friends, this scholarship continues her legacy of support and mentorship. We are thrilled to announce Jazmin Bravo-Rodriguez as the 2024 recipient of the Judy Spangler Memorial Scholarship.
