ABOUT SEED-AND-SCALE
This year’s 16 Seed-And-Scale Match Fund grantees are leading innovative work to improve health and well-being across Greater Coatesville. Through the Seed-And-Scale Match Fund, each organization has received an initial investment from The Alliance for Health Equity, and now has the opportunity to grow that investment with your support.
When you donate to one of the organizations below, your gift goes directly to that nonprofit. The Alliance for Health Equity will then match eligible donations dollar-for-dollar, up to the organization’s initial grant amount.

HEALTH ACCESS
Family Connect and Resource Navigation Hub.
Provides a coordinated, low-barrier resource navigation hub for pregnant individuals and families with young children in Greater Coatesville, streamlining access to information, referrals, benefit enrollment, and concrete supports such as diapers, safe-sleep items, and transportation assistance. Intends to improve timely connection to care and strengthen family stability during pregnancy and early childhood.

Expanding Comprehensive School-Based Health Services to Improve Student Health and Academic Outcomes in the Coatesville Area School District
Provides on-site medical and mental health care in Coatesville schools, including check-ups, immunizations, asthma care, therapy, and support for food or housing needs, so students do not miss class for outside appointments. Intends to keep students healthier, reduce missed class time, and improve academic outcomes.

Workforce Reintegration Program
Provides job training, certifications, and support services to roughly 500 unemployed and underemployed adults annually, including a paid Work Enclave, supply chain and manufacturing skills, digital literacy, QuickBooks, retail certification, allied health training, and driver education. Intends to help participants secure living-wage jobs ($18+/hour) and retain them for 12 or more months.

Coatesville Youth Workforce Pipeline Initiative
Provides paid internships and employer partnerships for youth ages 14-18 by recruiting 15-25 new employer host sites and growing placements from about 40 to 50-70 youth annually. Intends to increase access to structured paid work experience and build a sustainable pipeline toward long-term economic stability.

Prevention Education (Project SELFIE)
Provides an evidence-based prevention curriculum to 7th and 8th graders at North Brandywine and Scott Middle Schools, covering digital boundaries, consent, state sexting laws, and trusted adults, with a companion session for parents on online risks. Intends to reduce cyberbullying and harassment and foster healthier school climates.

Scaling Early Childhood and Expanded Learning Programs at Coatesville Kids to College
Provides expanded early childhood and out-of-school-time programming for 70-85 children annually, growing preschool from one to three classrooms, increasing K-5 after-school from three to four days a week, and extending summer learning to a full-summer program. Intends to improve kindergarten readiness, reduce summer learning loss, and support working families.

Intends to build lasting organizational infrastructure and strengthen the local service network.

Provides free beds, furnishings, and household goods, as Chester County’s sole furniture bank, to individuals and families transitioning out of homelessness, delivered within days of moving into permanent housing. Intends to reduce financial strain, prevent repeat homelessness, and support long-term housing stability.

Critical Needs for Healthy Families, Diaper Bank, and Period Supply
Provides basic essentials: clothing, diapers, period supplies, and toiletries directly to families in crisis, paired with social work support and case management. Intends to remove everyday barriers to school, work, and medical appointments and ease the burden of constant scarcity on families.

Family Savings Partner Program & Volunteer Income Tax Assistance
Provides a matched savings program (with Life Transforming Ministries) that helps low-income participants save $1,000 toward a reliable car with a $3,000 match, plus free tax preparation that saves households an estimated $300 per return. Intends to address the lack of public transportation and strengthen household financial stability.

SOCIAL AND COMMUNITY CONTEXT
Coatesville Area Outreach Office Community of Care
Provides free, confidential services through the Coatesville Area Outreach Office, including a 24/7 crisis hotline, counseling, legal advocacy, emergency shelter, housing support, and case management, plus a Lethality Assessment Program with police and a Medical Advocacy Program for trauma-informed healthcare training. Intends to increase survivor safety and improve mental health and economic stability for Coatesville residents, who account for 18% of clients but 25% of service hours.

Max’s Shoe Closets
Provides new, brand-name sneakers to students in need through Shoe Closets set up in Coatesville middle schools, letting staff quickly get a child a fitted pair rather than relying on a request-list model. Intends to help about 400 students feel confident, fit in socially, and stay active in PE and sports.

POINT School Based Outreach to Coatesville Area School District
Provides trained, trauma-informed staff on campus daily at Coatesville Area School District middle schools for student mental health support, conflict mediation, and behavioral intervention, extending a model currently used in high schools to early adolescence. Intends to improve student safety, emotional regulation, and academic engagement.

B&A Boost and B&A Farm Fresh Market
Provides pop-up produce and holiday markets plus B&A Boost enrichment events with field trips and school supplies for elementary and middle school students and families facing food insecurity. Intends to increase access to nutritious food and improve youth engagement and academic readiness.

Foundations & Futures Program: Strengthening Today. Shaping Tomorrow
Provides crisis intervention, basic needs assistance, financial coaching, mental health support, and leadership development for about 300 families (1,300 individuals), adding health and wellness classes, gardening activities, grief and trauma support groups, and bilingual services for Spanish-speaking families. Intends to reduce family instability and build household resilience against crises like eviction and food insecurity.

Friends Association 5 STEPS to Self-Sufficient Housing
Provides a trauma-informed, two-generation case management model (the STEPS framework) for families with children at risk of or experiencing homelessness, addressing immediate needs like food, clothing, and housing while building financial literacy, employment readiness, and life skills. Intends to reduce the cycle of generational homelessness and build long-term household stability.
