Our Work Requires You!

Here at The Alliance for Health Equity, we understand that achieving healthy outcomes requires genuine collaboration, which is rooted in our new name. While we are recognized for our financial support to Greater Coatesville nonprofits, we recognize that it is through thought partnership that we avoid missing opportunities or inadvertently working at cross purposes. Focusing in, we should all be able to agree when addressing the American healthcare industry’s current performance that the status quo is not good enough.

With AHE’s place-based work in the Greater Coatesville Area, we believe that improving community health outcomes requires a collaborative alliance between both funded and nonfunded partners, government and citizens, healthcare providers and health adjacent organizations. The only thing that works well in a silo is protection. As we work to break the barriers of institutional isolation, we hope you join us in making the shape of our work from funding to partnerships by sharing your insights and vision for the future.

Just the First Invitation!

As you will see below, this first invitation is for a discussion focused on organizations and institutional employees. If you are not an employee or board member, you are still welcome, but we want you to know future conversations will be more tailored to other stakeholder focus areas such as residents and people using services.

Over the coming year, The Alliance for Health Equity intends to bring all stakeholders together through multiple focused events. We aim to hear community members speak their personal truths about their experiences and perspectives from the personal to the professional. This is not simply an exercise in back patting – though we certainly welcome celebrating achievements – but endeavors to explore the full range of experience: comforts and concerns, joys and challenges, what is yielding results and what has underperformed expectations. Most importantly, The Alliance for Health Equity believes through this honest inquiry, we can realistically co-create a better future of our communal hopes and dreams.

Do You Count as a Stakeholder?

If you received this email, the simple answer is yes. While this first event will have a focus on Community Benefit Organizations, it is not limited to institutional leaders. We will address questions that staff and board members may find particularly relevant, but it is important to remember that the institutions only thrive in relation to the community members they serve.

Similarly, future events will explore different themes with greater focus on various stakeholders such as Greater Coatesville residents, people who work in and around the city of Coatesville, and folks whose interaction with the various Social Determinates of Health need to be in conversations that drive the eventual determinates of the community’s actual health.

Not Homework! But Opportunity to Come Informed!

While not required, if you can help shape the conversation by answering a few questions ahead of time, we would appreciate it. We will also follow-up with surveys and multiple opportunities to provide feedback over time.
