By: Gabby Sasso, Public Health Intern from West Chester University
The Alliance for Health Equity (AHE) is excited to introduce two incredible interns joining us for the Spring 2026 semester from West Chester University! Get to know Public Health Students Gabby and Sydney, their passions, and what they’re hoping to bring to our work in the Coatesville community!
Gabby and Sydney are both students at West Chester University. Gabby is pursuing her undergraduate degree in Public Health while Sydney is a graduate student in the Master of Public Health (MPH) program. Gabby will be working as a Marketing and Communications intern while Sydney will be working closely with the Food As Medicine (FAM) program. They are both excited to learn more about the community of Coatesville and how AHE works to address racial and health inequities. Both Gabby and Sydney decided to intern with AHE because of our mission and impact that they have on the Coatesville community.
Gabby is most passionate about addressing hunger which is inspired by her work with a nonprofit organization focused on feeding those in need, while Sydney is most passionate about mental health awareness and reducing the stigma around it. Gabby hopes to bring her background experience in social media marketing to help increase engagement. Sydney hopes to bring her knowledge from working with pregnant women and parenting families to help contribute to the Food As Medicine (FAM) program.
Outside of their academic and professional interests, both interns enjoy exploring new places and traveling. Gabby has traveled to both Japan and Norway and Sydney has solo traveled to Barcelona.
Together, Gabby and Sydney are excited to contribute to AHE’s work and look forward to learning from and engaging with the Coatesville community while supporting initiatives that promote health equity.
Please join us in welcoming the interns and we invite you to say hi to them at our next AHE event!
