Empowering Change Through Community Support
Coatesville Youth Initiative (CYI)
Discover how our Seed-And-Scale Grantee is transforming Greater Coatesville and making strides towards a healthier future for all.

Background
The CYI ServiceCorps program is an 8-week, paid summer initiative focused on both employment and leadership development for underserved youth in Coatesville. This program aims to meet immediate job needs while equipping participants with essential workforce skills for their future.
Through the Seed-And-Scale Match Funding, forty Coatesville youth will participate in structured internships at host sites Monday through Thursday, gaining valuable job experience and contributing to their communities. Each Friday, they will attend Resource Days, featuring workshops and learning opportunities.
Additional funding will support four key areas:
- Mental Health Workshops: Implementing 7-8 weeks of structured mental health classes.
- Year-Round Internships: Establishing ongoing internship opportunities, with 2-4 participants potentially hired for six-month positions post-program.
- Therapy Services: Providing year-round therapy for ServiceCorps participants and all Coatesville youth, including one-on-one support from a university intern.
- Stipends: Offering stipends to participants during their internships to recognize their contributions and support their involvement.
This comprehensive approach is designed to empower youth with practical skills, mental health support, and financial assistance, enhancing their overall well-being and prospects.
$30,000 in donations will be matched DOLLAR-FOR-DOLLAR by The Alliance for Health Equity.
